As of late I’ve began referring to Idiot Zoo as “The Impossible Mixtape” in my head. It seems like a project that will just never come to be. I was looking through my old files the other night and I realized that there was a completely different Idiot Zoo folder somewhere else on my drive, full of demos that I would absolutely not consider up to par to release now. In fact most of it was absolute garbage. It makes me wonder if all my current demos for Idiot Zoo will be looked at in the same manner in a year or two.

Idiot Zoo has been made and scrapped and remade and repurposed over and over again and I just can’t find a happy way to put it all together it seems.

I currently have an entire tracklist of songs and lyrics and beats, and I can’t get the time or motivation or current set of perfect circumstances to record. Because apparently I’m really fucking touchy about the ways in which I record. I can never just be “turn on microphone, rap some.” It has to all be just right. I need to stop with this bullshit and just get to it already.

Though I’ve recently thought of a way to sort of organize the chaos, so to speak. It is the Idiot Zoo, and since there’s only very loose themes, I’ve decided to break it up into exhibits! That’s right, come visit the Idiot Zoo, we have all your favorite exhibits!

I toyed with the idea of releasing five different EP’s and just making Idiot Zoo a “Best of” with them, but I think I’ll just release Idiot Zoo as one massive thing, split up into little sections.

I really must get to work.
